All Choirs at Weiss High School will participate in UIL Concert & Sight Reading Performance/Evaluation.
Kantori Choir (Beginner Treble Ensemble):

Open to 9th-12th women.

No prior experience required.

No audition necessary.

Concordia (Jr. Varsity Tenor-Bass Ensemble):

Open to 9th-12th men.

No prior experience required.

Bel Canto Choir (Jr. Varsity Treble Ensemble):

Open to 9th-12th women.

Previous experience in middle and/or high school is required.

Recommendation by former choir director required.

Bella Voce Choir (Varsity Treble Ensemble):

Open to 10th-12th women.

Previous high school experience is required.

An audition with the director is required.

Director approval required.

All students are required to participate in the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest.

All students in Bella Voce must have participated in UIL Concert and Sight Reading the previous year, have maintained consistent academic eligibility and must exhibit the highest of rehearsal standards.
Meistersingers Chorale (Varsity Mixed Ensemble):

Open to select students in grades 10th-12th men and women.

Previous high school experience is required.

An audition with the director is required.

All students are required to participate in the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest and TMEA All-State process (Region).

All students in Meistersingers Chorale must have participated in UIL Concert and Sight Reading the previous year, have maintained consistent academic eligibility and must exhibit the highest of rehearsal standards.
All Choirs at WHS are ability based. Students will not be placed in ensembles based on seniority. Students must demonstrate appropriate rehearsal skills to be advanced to a varsity level choir.
